kids dental care
Your child's oral health is your resonsibility, and you need to begin a hygiene program immediately. The American Dental Association (ADA) suggests that you begin cleaning your baby's mouth a few days after birth. Here's how to do it:
After each meal take a wet washcloth (or a product like Tenders Infant Pre-Toothbrushes) and wipe your baby's gums. This removes plaque that can accumulate on your baby's gums. Plaque is a sticky substance containing mucus, food debris, and bacteria.
Cleaning your baby's mouth accustoms your baby to having a clean, plaque-free mouth. It also gets your baby accustomed to you meddling in their mouth. This makes it more comfortable for the child later when a dentist needs to examine erupting teeth, and when you begin brushing.
